Fall in Love with Longhi's Ala Moana Valentine's Day Menus

The iconic Italian restaurant offers two menus for Valentine’s Day

Longhi’s Ala Moana will serve two different coursed menus on Valentine’s Day—one, a luxurious five course experience at an affordable price, and another, a decadent four course dinner at an incredible value.  Both menus will be offered in lieu of the classic menu on this special romantic evening.

For those seeking a lavish dining experience on Valentine’s Day, a five course menu designed to be shared by two is available for $200 plus tax and 18% gratuity.  Romance your loved one away with Pacific petite Manila clams steamed in white wine, fresh garlic, lemon, and finished with chopped tomatoes and Italian parsley, followed by an artichoke Longhi, a steamed Californian globe artichoke drizzled with butter, lemon juice, and imported Parmigiano Reggiano, and a fresh salad intermezzo of Belgian endive leaves filled with gorgonzola cheese and caramelized Hawaiian macadamia nuts, dressed with a honey-scallion Maui mint vinaigrette.  For the piece de la resistance, each person will receive individual platters featuring a petite filet mignon with garlic mash and a 1¼ live Maine lobster with drawn butter and lemon.  As the denouement to a perfect meal, a shared “Chocolate Knowledge” will be an indulgent dessert comprised of chocolate gelato on a bed of fresh fruits topped with a house-made caramel sauce and candied macadamia nuts.

For those who wish to enjoy an elegant evening with fine cuisine at a great value, there is a four course dinner, reasonably priced at $66 per person plus tax and 18% gratuity.  The culinary voyage will embark with a white prawn cocktail, followed by a Waimanalo green salad with luscious strawberries, Bulgarian feta cheese, candied macadamia nuts, and a honey-scallion Maui mint vinaigrette, and culminating in a choice among four main entrees—1) a petite filet mignon finished with an opulent Cognac demi-glace and served with a garlic chive mash; 2) a Maine lobster risotto, replete with succulent lobster meat, fresh asparagus, local grape tomatoes, and Italian parsley; 3) a sesame-seared sashimi grade ahi drizzled with hot sesame oil and immersed in a delicate lobster consomm√©, topped with ginger, shaved leeks, cilantro, and soy; and 4) a chicken saltimbocca over mushroom risotto, topped with Mozzarella di Bufala, Prosciutto di Parma, and a Marsala sage reduction.  A chocolate raspberry cake will be the aphrodisiac to enhance the romance beyond the dinner.

“I want to craft affordable luxuries for Valentine’s Day so people may focus on the romance and not the budget,” says Charlie Longhi, owner of Longhi’s Ala Moana.  “Whether people fall in love with each other or just with our food, it makes me happy to think that my family’s establishment has a part in creating a memory that lasts a lifetime.”
