Love & Lace Says “I Do” to Opening New Bridal Boutique in Downtown Honolulu

Hawaii is the dream destination for thousands of weddings each year -- and for many brides saying yes to the dress, is a special element of an unforgettable day. Starting this November, brides-to-be can take a walk down the aisle to Downtown Honolulu to explore Love & Lace, Oahu’s newest bridal gown boutique.

The store, owned and managed by Janna Frash, will offer a selection of gowns from California-based designers Sarah Seven and Amy Kuschel as well as Australian native Sarah Janks. All gowns are exclusive to Love & Lace in Hawaii with prices ranging from $1,600 - $3,200, offering something for every bride’s budget.

Like many businesses – the idea for Love & Lace first blossomed out of a growing need. When Frash started preparing for her own wedding a year ago she found that the Honolulu bridal gown market was veiled with excessive lace, opulent beading, and repetitive styles; none of which satisfied what she was looking for. With all of her options exhausted, she was forced to look online for the gown of her dreams.

Now married, Frash is getting ready for her next “big day,” hoping to serve brides looking for classic, elegant and fresh designs that fit in seamlessly against Hawaii’s tropical backdrop. Brides looking to run away from cookie-cutter dresses can peruse Love & Lace’s exclusive selection including gowns by the following talented wedding designers:

Sarah Seven has locations in San Francisco, New York City, and Chicago, and is known for creating whimsical fashion for today’s urban woman. Since 2009 she has been designing vintage-inspired gowns marked by their intricate design work and flowing layers of natural fabrics. A majority of her unforgettable dresses are created in-house at the company’s California atelier.

Like Love & Lace, Amy Kuschel was created to fill a void in the market for affordable, beautiful wedding gowns. Her collections are designed for the discriminating bride, with sophistication and elegance, and are reflective of each one’s unique personality. Each piece is made by hand at the company’s San Francisco design studio using luscious fabrics, couture techniques and quality workmanship.

Aussie resident Sarah Janks has designed a name for herself in the wedding industry since her first exquisite collection of gowns debuted in 2011. With a passion for couture, Janks has long immersed herself in the technical aspects of fashion and now marries that background with her dresses. Created with the sophisticated, confident woman in mind, Sarah Janks dresses are awash with nostalgia, ornate embellishments and sumptuous textures.

In addition to gowns, Love & Lace will also offer a selection of bridal accessories from Untamed Petals. The work of New York designer Amanda Judge, Untamed Petals offers a bouquet of beaded bridal sashes as well as veils, silk flowers, and headpieces that add that perfect touch to any bridal look.

“Love & Lace offers designs not currently available on Oahu, which means brides will have even more options to find the dress of their dreams,” Frash shared. “But what will truly differentiate Love & Lace is the experience. Unlike shopping in a big box retailer, we’ll offer a personalized touch for brides, their family and friends.”

In addition to her bouquet of stylish gowns, another feature that will distinguish Love & Lace is the boutique’s tailored services. With an understanding that no bride is like another, the boutique will work to personalize each appointment from the moment that the client walks through the door.

Love & Lace is located in Downtown Honolulu above Fighting Eel at 1127 Bethel Street #11 and will be open by appointment only, seven days a week. For more information visit their website online at and follow them on Facebook at and Instagram at @loveandlacehi.
