Golden Pork Ton-Kotsu Ramen Bar Opening in Honolulu, March 29

Last week, my good friend Gem, of Hawaii Mom Blog, and I attended a media preview and private menu tasting of IKKA Dining International's Golden Pork Ton-Kotsu Ramen Bar.  Golden Pork Ton-Kotsu Ramen Bar offers three types of pork-based tonkotsu ramen and tsukemen (dipping noodles) and a number of side dishes. To complement the dishes, they serve a fine selection on beer, wine, shochu, and sake.

The restaurant provides the perfect ambience with a traditional yet modern interior.  A kinbyoubu (adorned folding screen) has been transformed into a lantern-styled lighting fixture that hangs over the central ramen counter and bar.

The beautiful mosaic blue tiles form the majestic Mount Fuji.

Freshly Ground Cheese Caesar Salad
Love the taste of the dressing and their cheese is grated with a special grater.

Cream Cheese Miso Paste
I thought, cheese and crackers?  But it sure was delicious!
The cream cheese has a very light miso taste and went well with the crackers.

House-Made Gyoza
The gyoza is made fresh daily.  You'll love it!

Golden Pork Buns
The pork is very tender and is slow-cooked for 5 hours.

Gem tried the Black Garlic Original ramen and I tried the Golden Pork Classic ramen. The broth is very tasty and thicker than the usual ramen broth.  We had so much to eat and enjoyed all of it!
